Mobile apps · iPhone · Android

Apps that earn a place on the home screen

A good app does one job well, and does it faster than the alternative. We start with the job: who it is for and what they need to do in the first minute.

  • Customer apps

Booking, ordering, loyalty and customer accounts.

  • Team and field apps

Checklists, inspections, job cards, approvals and stock counts.

  • Companion apps

Dashboards, alerts and approvals for the systems you already run.

Not every job needs a store app. When a mobile-friendly web tool will do it is quicker to build and cheaper to keep, and we will say so.

App or mobile website?

An app is not always the answer.

A mobile-friendly website or web tool is quicker to build and cheaper to keep, and it works on every phone without an install. A store app earns its place when people will use it often, when it needs to work offline, or when it needs the phone's camera, notifications or other device features.

We plan every app for both iPhone and Android, and we will tell you honestly which route fits the job. Sometimes the answer is a simple web tool that your team opens from the home screen.

From idea to store listing

  1. Send your briefText or voice-note what the app should do on WhatsApp.
  2. Test a demoWe build a working demo for free. You try it and tell us what to change.
  3. Launch and look afterHappy? We launch it, then host, maintain and support it for a monthly fee.

After launch

We look after the app.

Launch is the start, not the finish. Once the app is live, we host, maintain and support it for a monthly fee. There is no once-off build cost, and you test a working demo before you decide to go ahead.

Apps for people who work away from a desk are often used where the signal is poor. Our own apps, Spry and Site Diary, both work offline, and we plan for that from the start when the job calls for it.

Mobile app questions

Do you build for both iPhone and Android?

Yes. We plan every app for both stores, and we will tell you honestly if a web app would serve you better.

How much does a mobile app cost?

There is no once-off build cost. We build it for free, you test a working demo, and you pay a monthly fee for hosting, maintenance and support. Message us what the app should do and we will tell you the monthly figure.

What happens after I send my requirements?

We build everything from your message, whether it is text or a voice note. You get a working demo to test and you tell us what to change. When you are happy, we launch it.

Should I build an app or a website?

If people will use it every day, need it offline, or need the phone's camera or notifications, an app makes sense. If they use it now and then, a mobile-friendly website is usually quicker and cheaper. We will tell you which fits.

Can the app work offline?

Yes, where the job needs it. Our own apps, Spry and Site Diary, work offline, and we plan for it from the start when your team works away from a signal.

Who looks after the app after launch?

We do. Once the app is live, we host, maintain and support it for a monthly fee.

Can the app connect to a system we already run?

Often, yes. A companion app can show dashboards, alerts and approvals from the systems you already run. We check how your system can be reached before we promise anything.

Got an app in mind?

Tell us who it is for and what it should do. We will say honestly whether an app, a web app or something simpler is the right fix.
